Impromptus generally consist of long unbroken melodic lines, marked by a highly lyrical character.
First set of two impromptus in Scriabin’s output :
No.1 in F♯ minor No.2 in A Major
With this composition, Scriabin finally completed his journey through all of Chopin’s typical forms (Waltz, Sonatas, Mazurkas, Nocturnes, Impromptus).
The first one is a delicate and melancholic piece, while the second, full of charming arabesques, is already Scriabin-esque especially considering its longing and floating pace.
