Impromptus were one of Chopin’s favorite genres, full of unbroken and lyrical melodic line.

Second set of two impromptus:

No.1 : Presto (F♯ major) No.2 : Andante cantabile (B♭ minor)

The first echoes in its colours to Chopin’s posthumous Etudes. The second reflects ****Scriabin’s still vivid romantic spirit at the time with a sense of pathos that he would gradually leave behind. It shares stylistic similarities with Chopin’s Nocturne No.1 Op.48 in C minor.
